Sunday Afternoon Football with Seniors

Different kind of afternoon at Aegis today. Instead of dominoes and exercise, it was popcorn and the Seahawks game.

We lost, which stung a little, the game was intense the whole way through. There was a fumble that had the room groaning, and then a 10-yard penalty in the last three minutes pretty much killed any chance of a comeback. Rough way to end it.

But it was fun in its own way, and honestly it might be the shift I had the most fun at so far. This was the one activity where I didn’t have to think about what to say next, I just got to talk. I was commentating the whole game, explaining why the fumble mattered, breaking down the penalty, walking through the clock situation. Sports are just my thing, so for an afternoon I wasn’t running an activity, I was just doing what I’d do anyway, except with a room full of people watching along with me.

We lost the game. Still a good day.
